We partnered with the MIT AgeLab and Touchstone Evaluations to launch the Advanced Vehicle Technology Consortium in 2015. Using advanced computer-vision software and big data analytics, we’re charting the future of vehicle technology by researching how drivers engage with and leverage vehicle automation, driver assistance technologies, and the range of in-vehicle and portable technologies for connectivity and infotainment appearing in modern vehicles.

We use this research to develop insights that improve safety and usability of automated vehicle technologies at the development stage, while helping consumers understand how new features will impact their driving habits.

TrueMotion is a smartphone-based driving data platform that uses machine learning to transform smartphone sensor data into valuable driving behavior insights.  

We’ve partnered with TrueMotion in our Crash Detection API, which enables Agero Accident Management insurance clients who use TrueMotion’s CrashAssist™ product to have accident response automatically engaged and event information rapidly imported into the Agero Accident Management portal or client claim system. This process dramatically improves the FNOL experience, shortens the time it takes to deliver assistance to the affected driver, and can save insurers hundreds of dollars in costs for each claim. 

In addition, motorists using TrueMotion’s consumer smartphone app, Openroad, also benefit from Agero’s Accident Management capabilities. In the case of a car accident, the Openroad app detects car crashes, makes an automated call to the driver, and if they don’t respond, automatically alerts Agero responders, who can deploy accident assistance as needed.
